01 · Passport
Carry a valid passport or accepted travel document. Kenya’s official eTA guidance currently states a minimum of six months’ passport validity and at least one blank page for applicants.
02 · Electronic Travel Authorisation
Visitors who are required to obtain an eTA should have an approved authorisation before starting their journey. Check the current exemption list and application guidance on the official Kenya eTA portal.
03 · Travel details
Have your arrival and departure information, accommodation confirmation and contact details ready. Additional supporting documents may apply depending on your purpose of travel.
04 · Health & vaccination
Check health requirements before departure. Travellers arriving from countries with yellow-fever transmission risk may need a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate.
05 · Travel insurance
Check the latest Kenyan requirements for travel health insurance before you fly and keep proof of compliant cover with your travel documents.
06 · Copies & backups
Keep digital and offline copies of your passport, eTA approval where applicable, insurance, accommodation details, flight information and important contacts.

What to have ready at the airport.
Keep your passport, eTA approval if applicable, onward or return travel information, accommodation details and supporting documents easy to reach. On arrival, travellers should be prepared for immigration and required biometric procedures. Final admission is determined at the point of entry.
Travelling with children or for a special purpose.
Check requirements for every traveller, including infants and children. Business, conference, employment, medical and family visits can require additional supporting documents such as invitations, contracts or referral letters.
